GUIDE · UPDATED JULY 2026
By the Impromatrix consulting team – Odoo since 2020, ERP since 2011
Most of what Enterprise charges per user for exists as free, peer-reviewed open-source modules from the Odoo Community Association. Here's the honest mapping – including the gaps where Enterprise genuinely has no substitute.
Module names are the OCA repository names on github.com/OCA – verify current 18.0 status per module. This table reflects what we deploy in production, not the full catalogue.
The Odoo Community Association is a non-profit maintaining hundreds of modules under peer review – every change is reviewed by developers from other companies that run the same code in production. Quality per module varies (check its maintainer activity and version coverage), but the core repositories – accounting, reporting, logistics – are battle-tested across thousands of installations.
No drag-and-drop clone exists, and we'd argue that's fine: a field or view tweak is a one-hour module for a developer, and unlike a Studio artefact it's in version control and survives upgrades cleanly. If your team changes forms weekly without a developer, Studio is a legitimate reason to stay on Enterprise.
The double-entry engine is identical in both editions. With the OCA reporting pack you get balance sheet, P&L, general ledger, aged balances and custom KPI reports. The real question is your country's localisation – many EU ones are community-maintained and current; we check that first in any audit.
List the Enterprise modules you actively use – most companies are surprised how short it is – and map each against this table. That's precisely what our conversion audit does, with a per-module verdict and cost. How the audit works → Or see a real conversion with numbers →
Send us your module list – we'll return the mapping for your case, free.
